Having thrown their hat in the ring are Isobella Booth, Janine Lambert and Naomi Clements.
Each of the girls has a strong local connection.
They began their showgirl journey with the Show Dinner, where entrants had an opportunity to liaise with members of the Cootamundra Show Society.
The announcement of the Showgirl is always a highly anticipated moment and will take place following the official opening of the Cootamundra Show at 3.30pm on the main stage.
Last year’s Cootamundra Showgirl Stephanie O’Brien has been part of the process again this year.
She thoroughly enjoyed her own Showgirl experience.
“It was so much fun,” Miss O’Brien said.
She represented Cootamundra at the regional level in Hillston and last November completed an etiquette school.
Through interviews at all stages, she enjoyed being able to promote Cootamundra and talk about the town in terms of infrastructure, jobs and opportunities.
At the same time as the Showgirl announcement, the younger Showgirl and Master Stockman categories will be announced.
The Cootamundra Show is shaping up to be another terrific event with plenty on the agenda.
Special entertainment will include the ‘Crackup Sisters’, a fun-filled act sure to have patrons in stitches.
There will also be the usual rides and pavilion exhibits to enjoy and peruse.
Show Society president Geoff Larsen said the horse events will be a feature with entry in some sections to the Sydney Royal.
The Speed Shear is popular every year and promises to be just as strong this year.
Add in yard dog trials, poultry exhibits and even a pet show and there is something for everyone.
A new multipurpose pavilion will be in use this year for the sheep and cattle section.
A major project of the Show Society, it is hoped this first-class facility will attract strength in the merino, prime lamb, heritage sheep and beef cattle sections.
For those teenagers and 20-somethings with diverse skills from the land, a Young Farmers’ Challenge will take place at 6pm.
With young farmers competing in teams to complete farm-based activities in a race against eachother, it is great fun to spectate.
The show will close with a fireworks display at 8pm, sponsored by Cootamundra Holden and the Showman’s Guild.
