Ms Palaszczuk said modelling is projecting that 80% of eligible Queenslanders will be fully vaccinated by December 17.
Ms Palaszczuk said: “Travellers from a designated interstate hotspot can travel by road or by air, they must be fully vaccinated, they must have a negative COVID test in the previous 72 hours and no quarantine will be required.”
“That is good news for families to be reunited for Christmas.”
It was also added that if vaccine rates exceed the projects, the December 17 date could be brought forward.
Right now, 72.26% of Queenslanders have had one dose and 56.58% are double dosed.
“People have been telling me they missing seeing their uncles, their aunts, their mothers, fathers and children – this is really important that we united Queenslanders but we do it in the safest way,” said Ms Palaszczuk.
