For fans of Studio Ghibli, the first phase of the new Ghibli Park attraction will open on November 1 in countryside east of Nagoya, which sits between Tokyo and Osaka.

It comes just weeks after Japan finally reopens to tourists without as many travel restrictions.

Seen as the Japanese equivalent of Disney, Ghibli Park’s attractions will be based on several of the studio’s movies.

Unlike most theme parks, this one won’t have your typical rides and attractions.

Ghibli’s Great Warehouse features a video room, three running exhibitions, gift shops and cafes.

Orionza is a quaint 170-seat cinema that will screen a rotation of Ghibli shorts which have only previously screened at the Ghibli Museum outside Tokyo.

There will also be a children-only, the Dondoko Forest, where kids can step into the world of “My Neighbor Totoro”.

There are also recreations of 13 of the most famous scenes from Studio Ghibli movies, where you are encouraged to immerse yourself in the setting.

Additional attractions are still being announced for the ever-evolving world of Studio Ghibli fanfare.
