An urgent recall has been issued for a host of Halloween items that are a serious safety risk to children.

Halloween masks, jewellery, headbands, candles and decorations are among the 11 items recalled.
"The products do not comply with the mandatory safety standard for products containing button/coin batteries," the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission warns.
The battery compartment is not adequately secured and batteries may be easily accessible.
"If young children gain access to button batteries and ingest them, they are likely to suffer severe internal burn injuries, which can result in serious injury or death," the ACCC said.
"Button batteries also pose a choking hazard to young children."
The items were sold nationally in home, discount and variety stores from August 1 to September 13, 2022.

Consumers should stop using the product and store it in a safe place out of reach of children.
Return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
