Australia's new low-cost carrier, Bonza, has launched its base in Melbourne, just in time for the Easter school holidays, offering direct flights between the Victorian capital and nine regional centres, with tickets costing as low as $49 one way.

Bundaberg, Gladstone, Mackay, Rockhampton, the Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba Wellcamp in Queensland; Port Macquarie and Tamworth in NSW; and Mildura in Victoria are the regional centres from where travellers can now fly direct to and from Melbourne on Bonza.
The airline has sold more than 100,000 seats using the Fly Bomza app (there's no website) since the launch of its first base (the Sunshine Coast) earlier this year.

And while travellers can only book tickets until October this year at the moment, the airline has assured us flights will soon go on sale for the upcoming Christmas and summer holiday season. All we can say is, download the app, so you're ready to go.

My all-time favourite destination is ... New York. You can drop a pin anywhere in Manhattan and start walking in any direction, and the sights and sounds of the city that never stops will begin to stimulate all your senses in an instant.
Next on my bucket list is … Scandinavia - at the peak of summer, when the sun almost never sets.
My top travel tip is … If you’re flying to Sydney from anywhere in the world, pick a window seat far from the wing on the left-hand-side of the aeroplane. If the weather gods and flight path align, you’ll have the most incredible views of the Sydney Harbour and Opera House.
