"Due to a manufacturing defect, the driveshaft may break under load. If this occurs, it may lead to a sudden loss of motive power," Hyundai said in its recall notice.
"A sudden loss of motive power whilst driving could increase the risk of an accident, causing injury or death to the vehicle occupants and/or other road users."
Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 recalled
- A total of 118 vehicles built in 2023 are affected
- A Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) list is attached here

If you own an affected Ioniq 5 or Ioniq 6, you'll need to contact your preferred Hyundai dealer to schedule an appointment to have the driveshaft replaced, free of charge.
