Reptile Relocation Sydney owner Cory Kerewaro wrote on Facebook they were called to remove four snakes spotted on a mulch pile in the backyard of a property in Horsley Park, in Sydney's west.

"At this time of year, it can be common for some females to congregate and share the same birthing site," Mr Kerewaro said.
"Upon arrival, we expected to remove four red-bellies that had been seen but snake after snake, they just kept being uncovered.
"Long story short we went for four adults and came out with 102 snakes."
In total, there were 97 newborn snakes and five adults.
While red-bellied black snakes are venomous, their bites are rarely life-threatening to humans.
Bites from red-bellied black snakes could be extremely painful resulting in swelling, prolonged bleeding and even necrosis.
