An unknown man entered the Anzac War Memorial in Sydney's Hyde Park on September 25, where police allege he poured small amounts of the liquid onto stones and an Anzac memorial plaque, before leaving.

Police said they received reports of malicious damage about 2.40pm the following day, and Sydney City Police established a crime scene and began an investigation.
Despite the caretakers' efforts to remove the liquid, police said the memorial remained damaged.
CCTV released on October 24 showed a man police are seeking to interview, who was seen in the area at the time of the alleged damage.
Police described him as Caucasian in appearance, believed to be between 40 and 50 years old, of medium build, with dark hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing black shorts and a black T-shirt.
The incident comes after two men pleaded guilty to damaging the memorial with olive oil in a religious 'blessing' on September 4.
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Sydney City Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or the Crime Stoppers website.
