The popular dance studio has existed in Cootamundra for eight years and this year marks the 28th year of teaching for Christine – giving her almost a lifetime of experience to pass onto her students.
The studio offers classes in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, modern, boys hip hop and national character.
Students of Christine Wishart’s Dance Studio go from strength to strength in their chosen genres, often taking part in regional performances and eisteddfods.
“We have a busy year ahead with eisteddfods, and have already been booked for local performances, exams and of course our end of year concert,” Christine said.
The end of year concert, performed in the Town Hall last year, had to be seen to be believed with something for everyone. The young ballerinas were simply gorgeous, the contemporary pieces showcased exceptional skill and the hip hop acts had audiences thrilled.
There will be a new face at Christine Wishart’s Dance Studio this year with a new teacher joining the studio.
“Miss Leanne (Simms) teaches at my studio in Young and will be teaching the intermediate and senior classes in ballet, pointe and contemporary/modern,” Christine said.
Leanne has danced overseas and has more than 20 years teaching experience. She has taught at Canberra-based studio Legs.
The studio is situated behind the old hospital on the corner of Thompson and Mackay Streets.
Registration takes place today between 2pm and 6pm at the studio. The registration fee is $15 per person.
For enrolments and enquiries please phone Christine on 6942 6201 or 0427 782 954.
