Melbourne, my favourite city, was the spot chosen by Trish Kelleher and her sisters Shirley Gadd (Orange) and Maureen Lynch (Temora) for their annual get together.
They travelled to Melbourne by train and stayed in lovely accommodation along St. Kilda Road opposite the Botanical Gardens.
The highlight of their four day stay was a day trip down the Great Ocean Road which the girls described as a marvellous day out.
FAIR DINK
The Collection of Fair Dink volume three joke book is only 13 books short of reaching the target of 300 or $3000!
Printed as a fund raiser to boost the coffers of the Cootamundra Branch of Can Assist, the little book would make an ideal Father’s Day gift.
The book contains over 600 items and is available at several shop outlets in town, as well as Yandilla Mustard Oils and Whichcraft, Harden.
A limited number of the volume two is still available and Clarrie Power will do a deal of $15 for both volume two and three by contacting him on 6942 3842.
To date sales of the three volumes has reached a total of over $10,000 - all money donated go to Can Assist.
SPRINGTIME BIRTHDAYS
What a fun time of late wishing many locals a HAPPY BIRTHDAY -
Tomorrow August 23 Maureen Bunworth and Lyn Louttit celebrate their birthday.
AND on sunday it is the birthday of Keith Kirley.
A BIG WEEKEND
TODAY is Daffodil Day, a Cancer Council event, and do be sure to make your way to the front of Rockmans and make a purchase from the stall there for this worthy cause.
TOMORROW marks the start of a BIG weekend for our cycling enthusiasts when the Cootamundra Annual Cycle Classic takes place. This annual event brings many to town for the weekend (good for our ‘economy’ with all accommodation booked out and coffee shops will be busy).
Tomorrow night the Wattle Time Debutante Ball takes place in the Cootamundra Town Hall.
