The recent CADAS production Still on the Boyle was truly a triumph.
For a number of reasons the evening of seven short plays was cancelled early in the year. Yet, through perseverance, the production came to fruition and its outcome can be fairly described as a runaway success.
The feedback from those who attended has been phenomenal, and much regret has been expressed from others unfortunate to have missed it.
CADAS (Cootamundra Amateur Dramatic Arts Society) would like to thank the following: Its perennial supporters The Cootamundra Shire Council and The Cootamundra Herald.
The producers Cathy Boyle and Bob Guy.
Ben Pepper (lighting and sound wizard). Nancye Heath (mistress of paint, powder, lippy and liner). Bob Guy (stage manager). Eric and Max Steinke (back-stage crew). Marg Wallace with Jenny Roberts and the CADAS Kids (catering). Lindy Chalmers (wardrobe mistress extraordinaire). Sue Guy, Daina Trethewey, Marianne McInerney, Lindsey Baber and Leonie Barrett (front-of-house indispensables).
Last - but certainly not least - CADAS thanks the Arts Centre for their wonderful theatre; how blessed we are.
CADAS salutes the wonderful cast of Still on the Boyle - tremendous performances all round.
As well as the tried and true old hands, three new infusions of young talent bolstered the production: Britt Phelps and Melissa Barron (Cootamundra High School teachers) and Angus Humphrey, a local policeman. Simply splendid actors.
Making her debut in the production was Amie Whitby, an employee at the Eloura laundry. Amie has ticked one item off her bucket list by appearing on stage with CADAS. There shall be more for Amie in the future.
CADAS/ CADAS Kids are first and foremost about community involvement. The 67-year-old organisation has fervently supported local charities and projects; their philosophy being the three ‘Cs’: Cootamundra - CADAS - Community. New members are always welcome.
Finally, CADAS wishes to thank the wonderful folk of Coota and visitors for their support and appreciation.
Marty Boyle
