The Wallendbeen Combined Guild were endowed with $3500 from tireless fundraising efforts over the past year and now they have generously distributed the funds between 12 charity causes and not for profit organisations.
“Our aim is to raise as much money as we can to give away at our annual meeting,” president Eve Everingham said.
The group is giving $400 to Careflight, $400 to Angelflight, $300 to Cootamundra Hospital, $400 to South Care Helicopter, $200 to Vinnies, $300 to Riding for the Disabled, $100 to Susie McDonald, $300 to Cootamundra Nursing Home, $400 to Can Assist, $200 to the Salvation Army, $200 to Fred Hollows and $300 to the Cootamundra Retirement Village.
The WCG specialises in catering, running the Wallendbeen Markets twice a month, holding two street stalls a year with only 10 members who are very active, with the help of two male members on the barbecue.
