After two rounds of the May Cup any golfer who has scored three points or more and scores well in the third round on Saturday week have a great chance of taking out this time honoured event.

The winner of the May Cup receives two glasses of liquid amber of their choice on every golfing day for 12 months.
Each golfer receives one bonus point for playing in each round, play three rounds and get three bonus points.
To receive points you need to place in the top 10 each day with points dropping from 10 to one. Greg Lynch scored the maximum 10 points by winning the first round and our handicapper Stephen Buttriss gained the maximum 10 points last Saturday in the second round.
Adding their two bonus points for playing in both rounds sees them both on top of the leaders board with 12 points each. Bruce Carberry has scored 11 points with six points in the first round and 3 points in the second round plus his two bonus points. Bruce is the only golfer to have scored points in both rounds.
Geoff Manwaring scored 9 points in the second round and his two bonus points means he is equal to Bruce. Dave Browning and Greg Rudd are on 10, Matt Moon 9, Geoff Forsyth and Stan Butriss are both on 8, Steve Johnson 7, Clarrie Power and Col Trickett on 6, Darryl O’Keefe and Jim Bunworth on 5.
The final round is the dreaded par event.
Last week’s second round of the May Cup results saw Stephen Buttriss winning with 44 points from runner-up in Geoff Manwaring with his great 43 points and Dave Browning finishing third with 40 points on a countback.
Nearest the pins went to M. Buckley on three, Graeme Goodman on nine and Jarrod Loiterton on 12. Graeme Goodman also won the eagle’s nest on the ninth, winning seven golf balls.

This Saturday sees the power play medley with golfers able to pick to holes on the front and back nine as their power play holes, but they must nominate each hole before they tee off on that hole.
Of interest next Thursday and Friday is the Legends Pro-Am with Thursday being a sponsors day only and on Friday amateur golfers will be teamed up with professionals.
