Mimosa defeated Crusaders by 51 while Scorchers finished their season defeating Central Hotel.
The losses made no impact on the finals as they play each other in the major semi-final on Saturday.
At Albert Park Mimosa Whirlwinds inflicted the first defeat of the season to competition front-runners, Crusaders, in a match where a couple of former Riverina cricketers showed their class.
Mimosa 158 Mark Stimson 60, Artie Stacey 40, James Smith 4/40, Luke Berkrey 3/30 d Crusaders 107 Darren Connell 22, Peter Gerhard 4/16, from 10 – Peter turns 51 in a couple of weeks.
Stacey completed a fine match by capturing 3/17 from seven overs. A 68 runs stand for the third wicket by Mark Stimson and Stacey set up Mimosa’s competitive total.
Crusaders played without their captain and opening bowler Dean Bradley, who is injured.
The win by Mimosa is timely with the finals on Saturday. While Crusaders said “it was the loss they had to have”.

AT CRANFIELD Oval Scorchers climbed off the bottom of the ladder defeating second-placed Central Hotel.
Scorchers 183 defeated Central Hotel 165. The star in a losing side was Brendan Gale who scored 80.

ON FRIDAY at Alfred Oval Young Ones 4/64 defeated Ex-services 32 Wides top scored for the visitors with 14. The match was meant to be 32 overs each with the match spilt into four 16 over quarters.
Six of Ex-Services batsman failed to score, their innings lasting only 12.5 overs, while the match lasted only 28.5 overs.
The star for the Young Ones was former Harden quick Tom O’Brien despite bowling nine wides finished with 6/15.
Earlier in the Young Ones innings of 4/64, Glenn Blizzard, remained 24 not out while Captain Jason Hall made 18.
