That was until six students joined kindergarten.
With only one year six student this year, they will only lose one student at the end of the year.
Principal Colin Trickett is pleased by the boost to numbers, which brings the school population to 24.
“It means that we have a sustainable school into the future,” Mr Trickett said.
He thanked parents of the village for enrolling their kids in the local school.
“It goes to show the community is strong and happy to send their kids to Stockinbingal Public School,” Mr Trickett said.
It is all systems go for the students so far this year, spending today at a small schools swimming carnival in Binalong and preparing for the Baldry Shield later this term.
There is plenty coming up for students in the community also, playing a part in the Stockinbingal Village Fair as well as the Anzac Day service at Springdale.
