This Sunday, from 10am for a 10.30am start, all community members are invited to the Country Club for a social day of barefoot bowls.
No bowls experience is necessary, anyone can play.
The format of the day will be teams of four, with bowlers able to register as a team or be placed together on the day.
Co-organiser of the day Helen Eccleston said the emphasis of the day is on fun.
There will be music and raffles and people are encouraged to get dressed up if they wish.
Mrs Eccleston is part of a small group of ladies who have been organising social events for the whole community at the Country Club.
She said it is a great space in our community, which can be utilised more.
By creating activities for people, who may not usually frequent the Country Club, Mrs Eccleston said it brings more people through the door.
“This is a way of giving back to the community, the community supports the Country Club and we want to give back something enjoyable to do,” Mrs Eccleston said.

The organisers of Sunday’s event are the same ladies as those behind last year’s successful Christmas Fun Day at the Country Club.
They have also organised an Easter Raffle and Mothers Day Raffle with tickets available this Sunday.
Entry on the day is $10 per person with all proceeds going to the Soup Kitchen.
Teams or individuals should put their names down and pay their entry fee at the Country Club bar.
To feed hungry bowlers, a sausage sizzle will take place with sandwiches available at $2 each and proceeds from this added to the final donation to be given to the Soup Kitchen.
Mrs Eccleston said while there are many worthy charities the day could have supported, organisers could not go past the Soup Kitchen.
“They do such a great job,” Mrs Eccleston said.
The Soup Kitchen runs out of the Baptist Church Hall each Wednesday evening providing a hot meal for families and singles who can not afford to put a meal on the table or even those members of the community who are in need of company for a meal once a week.
