A mid-year feature of the dance school, the 2016 ballet recital will take place on Sunday, July 3 from 9.30am in the Arts Centre.
All ballet students will participate in the recital, which will also include a number of impressive solo routines.
All parents and community members are welcome to attend and enjoy the beautiful dancers in action as they present the routines learned for their upcoming ballet exams.
Cost is $10 per adult which includes morning and afternoon tea.
Dancers have been following the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus with exams to start from Monday at the studio.
An RAD examiner from Sydney will be in Cootamundra to grade the students with exams helping build the confidence and self esteem of dancers while enforcing life skills such as commitment and discipline.
Meanwhile, the dance studio is continuing to foster the talent of its students.
Recently students Melissa Lott and Sarah Wong attended separate masterclasses with the Australian Ballet School in Canberra at the prestigious ballet school ‘The Oak’, owned by Ms Kim Harvey.
Both girls enjoyed the experience immensely, with the classes providing an opportunity to work with some of Australia's leading dance teachers.
On the same day they both auditioned for the Interstate Training Programmer scholarship.
This consisted of a modified class and physical assessment.
The class is specifically structured to assess a range of criteria including coordination, musicality and physical suitability for the demands of The Australian Ballet School Training Program.
Successful applicants will be advised in September for the 2017 scholarship year.
Melissa very much enjoyed her classes and the teachers were extraordinary.
“It was a great experience,” Melissa said.
She will do her RAD Grade Four exams next week.
