The women played extremely well in their 3-0 win over Tolland.
Co-coach Luke Dickinson was happy with the win.
“It assures a top-two finish with five rounds to go,” he said.
In the second match of the day, the men’s reserve grade beat Wagga United 1-0.
It was an encouraging win as the reserves had lost 4-1 to United earlier in the week in a make-up game.
The first grade team was in good spirits before the match as they celebrated Luke Izzard’s 200th game for the club. Unfortunately, they didn't perform on the field and suffered a disappointing loss to Wagga United who sit well below the Strikers on the table. It comes as a stark reminder to the boys not to underestimate the lower-ranked teams as finals approach.
All three teams travel to Wagga this weekend with both men’s teams taking on Tolland and the women going up against South Wagga.
