What a successful day was had by all the swimmers.
Some of the swimmers were competing outside their comfort zones in events that they would not normally contest and it was great to see them take up the challenge.
Even with this challenge, the swimmers did themselves proud coming away with 16 PBs, three firsts, four seconds and five thirds between the five swimmers.
Swimmer of the meet was Bella Leggett who took a massive 22 seconds off her 50 butterfly time, eight seconds off her 100 freestyle, three seconds off her 50 backstroke and a second off her 50 freestyle.
I am sure if she had had a previous time for her 100 backstroke we would have seen an improvement there also.
The swim of the meet was Charli Leggett’s 50 breaststroke.
Charli bettered her time by five seconds and if she had had a previous time for the 100 breaststroke, it is certain she would have bettered that also.
Charli had to swim up in the intermediate division for her 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle and acquitted herself well with a PB in the 100 (2nd) and third in the 50.
Abbey Gammon stopped the coach’s heart on several occasions during this meet.
Abbey achieved a six second PB in her 50 butterfly and first place in her heat, shaved another second off her 100 freestyle and maintained good times in her 50 freestyles, breaststroke and backstroke.
Annie Khoury had her first meet with the squad and came away with a five second PB in her well swam 100 breaststroke, second in her 50 breaststroke and two seconds in her 50 backstroke.
Annie also came first in her 50 freestyle.
Maddie Brown showed what a strong competitor she is within her age group.
Maddie managed another six seconds off her 100 backstroke time ( a great achievement when you consider she took 28 seconds off her time at the last meet), three seconds off her 100 freestyle, a first place with a three second PB in her 50 backstroke and her 50 freestyle and 50 butterfly were on time.
These swimmers are now getting ready for the SISA Development weekend on August 20 and 21 and the Effortless Swimming Clinic on September 11 before getting ready for the upcoming summer meets.
