With the new start time of 8.30am, there was still good support from buyers with all regular buyers operating.
The market was made up of 2899 lambs, 562 ewes, 451 suckers, 118 hoggets, 14 old sheep and 12 rams.
In a mixed quality market there were a few pens of top quality new season lambs and only a few pens of trade weight old season lambs presented, with a fair percentage of lighter lambs.
The market overall was back about $8 to $10.
Top price of the day went to Peter Coddington of Tubbal, who supplied an excellent pen of XB new season lambs, that made $ 150.
Weighing 23kg CW with a $7 jacket, they came back at $6.25/kg CW and were knocked down to Woolworths.
Most new season suckers were in the $6 to $6.20/kg CW range and were keenly sought after.
Old trade lambs at the heavier end made from $135 to $150 with lighter lambs selling between $120 to $134.
Rich and Nat Buck of Monteagle had a pen of old trade lambs that fetched $145. Weighing 23kg CW and with a $6 pelt they came back at $6.05/kg CW. These lambs went to Fletchers International.
Old trade lambs ranged from $5.40 to $6/kg CW.
Mutton numbers fell but what was present was keenly sought after with prices generally firm from last sale.
Medium framed merinos ewes made from $94 to $114.
Heavy XB ewes made up to $124.60, with most $3.80 to $4/kg CW.
