TWOMEYS Twilight Golf is in its fifth week and the standard is looking as though the rusty swings are now smooth. The scores are such that merely playing to your handicap is getting you nowhere.

Week five is seeing the total rounds nearing the 90s. Andrew Cudmore returned to the winners’ list for the first time this year with 27 points.
Grant Boyd continues to improve with the handicap not hindering his 25 points. His new handicap could be a challenge for next week.
Paul Field with 25 points also is handing the course as though he lives there.
Jordan Ballard, Greg Ewings and Ron Bishop with 24 points each showed that they can handle the course in the hot weather, while 23 points was the score for James Howse, Andrew O’Loughlin, Tim Beveridge, Kevin Sutcliffe and Paul Field also had this for his second round in the week.
There were eight players on 22, 6 on 21 and 7 on 20.
The ball comp saw 34 balls distributed. Belinda Scott and Margot Lyne were the leading ladies for the week on 22.
The teams’ event went to Independent Kitchens on 90, with Heritage Veterans taking second place on a countback from Who’s Your Caddy both on 89. Pooh Corner moved up the ladder with their 85 points. Sea Diggers, Houses and Slowbacks with 83 were next.
It can be seen that the good scores of the week made the team’s event very competitive.
The ladder has Heritage Veterans leading on 32.
Next are Trappers on 27, Slowbacks on 24 and Sea Diggers on 22 and then Penguins on 21. Independent Kitchens with their win for the week were the big mover.
We have two more weeks before Christmas so I hope we see many golfers out on the course so the ladder is stacked before our break.
See you in the clubhouse for a bit of pre-Christmas cheer. Thanks to the Golf Shop and Gary and Ann Mason for the weekly scoring.
