For year six student Grace Large, the presentation night was one of the last school events she’ll attend at the school after beginning her education there six years ago.
Ms Large, the school’s only year six student, has been at Stockinbingal Public as long as principal Colin Trickett and so was sad to see her time at the school come to an end.
While there was an element of sadness, the school was also able to celebrate all that they have achieved in 2016.
In giving his principal’s report, Mr Trickett address the various changes in the world today and how Stockinbingal Public is preparing its students to face these changes.
“It’s an interesting world that we live in, this year more than ever dominated by huge changes,” Mr Trickett said.
“That’s our future, and the future of our children, being able to manage change and have the skills to make the best of these changes.”
Mr Trickett listed the various events and activities the students have participated in this year which included the Premier’s Debating Challenge, Pirate Day and excursions to Canberra and Sydney.
He also looked to the future and said the school plans “to make more great memories next year and in the years to come”.
To help continue the success at Stockinbingal Public, Mr Trickett appointed Adam Mayor and Hayley Bowditch as school captains for 2017 to replace the outgoing captains Grace Large and Zachary Armstrong.
