She is raising funds to help the cause of Adam Barnes, who suffers from Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and needs $100,000 to get to Russia for potentially life-changing treatment.
Adam and his family live with the knowledge he could wake up any day with no sight or no feeling in his arms and legs.
The treatment in Russia is considered by Adam and his wife Hayley as Adam’s best chance at living a normal life.
Time is of the essence with treatment able to reverse the progression of his condition.
Mrs McDevitt works with Hayley and knowing the plight of the family wanted to do her bit.
The idea to walk to Wallendbeen started as a conversation with friends and she decided she would do it as a personal challenge.
She then developed the idea into a fundraiser.
She is collecting sponsorship from any individuals with forms available at the Sutton Street Store, Baz and Kaz’s Takeaway, the Cootamundra Herald and with Mrs McDevitt.
She is also planning to have a singlet made up with the logos of any business sponsors.

Mrs McDevitt does a lot of walking so when the opportunity to take on this 22 kilometres challenge came up, she jumped at it.
“Initially I wanted to challenge myself, to see if I could do it, but now doing it as a fundraiser makes it even more important,” she said.
“They are a young family and I can help, I want to do it,” she continued.
Adam and Hayley have two young children, Bradley (one) and Henry (three) and while both work, they are counting on fundraising to get the funds needed to get Adam to Russia.
Mrs McDevitt is throwing open an invitation for others to join her on her walk, which will take place on Saturday, March 25.
People can either the whole way or part of the way.
People wanting to join in can either do their own fundraising or donate to her fundraising effort.
She is allowing herself six hours to complete the walk, however on her practice walks has completed close to 10 kilometres in less than two hours.
Mrs McDevitt extends her thanks to her family and friends who have supported her to take on this fundraising fitness challenge and also those who have already and plan to pledge sponsorship.
Meanwhile, Cootamundra's first Color Run has also been organised to raise funds for Mr Barnes to get to Russia.
