Despite the inclement weather, more than 150 people packed into the memorial hall for the town’s Anzac Day Service on Tuesday at 9am.
Sean Sunley from the RAAF Base in Wagga gave the address and talked about the emotional toil serving in the armed forces can have on a person, saying the emotional scars of war can last well after the physical ones.
Dignitaries, including school students, laid wreaths at the service and the Last Post was sounded by bugler Hayden Dalton.
Toby Bassingthwaighte was the master of ceremonies.
A Vietnam War collage was raffled off to raise money to beautify the town’s cenotaph, which was won by Natalie Wilkinson.
Residents planned to make the trek to the local pub where two-up action got under way at 2pm.
