The Cootamundra Sports Foundation (CSF) has defended its decision to remove a Harden sportsperson from the list of award nominees for the CSF Awards.

Responding to public inquiry, CSF spokesman Graeme Worboys said the nomination of taekwondo prodigy Corbyn Bomok was rescinded solely on the basis of his residence in Harden and that no further allegations should be considered.
“The CSF exists to support and promote local talent and local athletes,” Mr Worboys said.
“With any award or financial assistance, our main criteria has always been for athletes to live in the Cootamundra region.”
“This committee has been going for a long time and we will continue to support talent exclusively from this region.”

Mr Worboys explained that Corbyn’s nomination was made under the impression that he was residing in the Cootamundra region, and was immediately rescinded discovering that Corbyn only trains in Cootamundra.
The annual CSF Awards night on May 6 will host the region’s sporting elite alongside guest speaker and Olympic gold medallist Alicia Quirk, who will speak on her rugby sevens success.
