International officer Ann once again delighted the members with her facts on Nepal, outlining the Kumari, the living goddess, meaning virgin.
Selected as children, they live in temples and are carried in chariots during festivals. They are worshipped by thousands of Hindus and Buddhists.
They retire very early and some activists criticise the custom as a form of child labour.
Sue, Ag and E officer, spoke of the boom in rural economy, although not always experienced in our region.
