Speaking ahead of Saturday’s clash with Temora, Miller praised his team’s “unbelievable” win as a turning point for a successful 2017 campaign.
“Last week was a massive effort, the first time we’ve ever beaten Young, and we did it with plenty of adversity,” Miller said.
“We only fielded 15 players and Tom Miller was gone after two minutes with a fractured fibula, so we essentially ran with one reserve all game.
The self belief, the fact they dug in for each other to get the win … it was just incredible and it’s changed their mindset heading into finals.”
Miller said the character shown by his side has sent positive energy throughout the entire Bulldogs community.
“Every parent there was carrying on like we won the competition already,” he said.
“Zac Rumble playing with a busted toe, Brendan Kelleher carrying on with injury, Ky White slotting the winning penalty … it just created such a good vibe in the club and now everyone’s a part of it.
“It’s proof the club is working together, giving out that whole club feeling.”
The U16s kick-off at 10am this Saturday at home.
