The AGM was held on July 14; the branch has 29 members with an average of 10 attending monthly meetings.
The executive is: president Michele Baldry, vice presidents Elizabeth Bassingthwaite and Eve Everingham, secretary Margot Lyne, treasurer Maureen Smith, merchandise sales Susie McDonald, publicity Win Main and patron Janet Thorburn.
Zone 19 Representative Noeleen Hazell attended the meeting and thanked members for their contributions. These include the mobile Blood Bank and emergency services assisting people affected by disasters.
Breakfasts are provided in some schools to children who are in need of this nourishment.
Red Cross is involved with the International Tracing Service, a global network of 190 Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies who locate missing relatives around the world including in conflict zones.
Wallendbeen raises money from the Christmas fair, merchandise and raffles. Zone 19 raised $70,044 during the last financial year from its nine branches.

Marcia Thorburn was congratulated for receiving an OAM in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in June.
Red Cross is in need of new young members particularly as long time members age; please consider joining, there’s much satisfaction is gained by knowing that we can make a difference.
