The market consisted of 763 old lambs, 2984 new season lambs, 588 ewes, 133 hoggets, 55 rams, 127 wethers and 103 old sheep.
With most regular buyers present, the market sold to a dearer trend on the previous sale a fortnight ago.
There was an excellent run of new season sucker lambs presented, while numbers of old lambs are declining.
The limited mutton market was of good quality with a few pens of heavy XB ewes presented. The bulk of the mutton were medium weights with a few runs of boner mutton
Top price of the day went to Neil McDonald of Berthong Road with a quality pen of new season lambs making $164.
The lambs, with an estimated carcass weight of 26.5kg and a skin value of $10 came back at $5.80/kg CW and were knocked down to Southern Meats Goulburn.

XB New Season Lambs:
24 to 26kg CW made from $150 to $158
22 to 24kg CW made from $145 to $150
20 to 22kg CW made from $128 to $138
16 to 20kg CW made from $90 to $115
The new season lambs were generally $4 to $6 up across the board from last sale with most in the range of $6 to $6.25/kg CW.
The processors were active purchasing most, with limited re-stocker activity due to the dry conditions.
A large run of forward store new season merino/dorset X lambs out of Burrowa Hills Galong, with an estimated CW of 15 to 17kg sold to a top of $118, to average $106. or $6.50 plus/kg CW.
Fewer old season lambs were presented this sale but still produced some good results to be fully firm on the previous sale.
22 to 24kg CW made from $140 to $155
20 to 22kg CW made from $125 to $140
16 to 20kg CW lambs made from $80 to $115
The Mutton market had some fluctuating prices. The top price went to a pen of heavy ewes making $128.
Medium framed mutton made from $80 to $98.
Light boner mutton made from $35 to $55.
All mutton averaged $103 per head.
Mutton sold to a dearer trend to be up $5 to $8.
Hoggets sold to a top of $135 to average $112.
