LAST Friday saw a field of 16 bowlers for the selectors to arrange, and for one team it proved to be a day they would rather forget. W Watmore and R Smith won with smallest margin (5) against E Jarrott and G Davidson. J LeLievre, C Miller, and P.Rasmussen won by seven over B Visser, J Malone, and R Cleveland, and the upset of the day to win the vouchers was the 24-shot victory by G Cassidy, G Hagan, and R Johnson over N Stubbs, W Ledger, and D Manwaring. Jackpot remained intact.

In the championship field one team of triples has moved into the final, and that team is G Bushell, D Harris and W Manwaring, who eliminated C Miller, P Rasmussen, and R Smith in a hard fought game on Sunday. Winning first end with three shots, Richard`s team levelled a couple of times but could not get to lead. Final score was 22-18.
Social pairs games also were played with S Wilkinson and G Worboys playing a very good game to defeat A Ward and D Bateup by four, while J Malone, and R Johnson scored the vouchers with their nine-point margin over R Crowe and R Cleveland, who actually won 11 of the ends. It was agreed that the jackpot would be played out on this occasion, and after a few wrong ones, nine came up to give the $200 to Crowe, Cleveland, Malone and Johnson. A similar amount is on hand for next jackpot draw.
