The market consisted of 2316 lambs, 492 ewes, 28 hoggets, 41 rams, and 35 wethers.
With most of the regular buyers on the rail, during a heavy thunderstorm they operated in a market that was general very firm across the board for lambs, with mutton prices mainly $2 to $4 cheaper.
The quality of the yarding was very good, although heavy mutton was scarce.
Store lambs were limited with a few pens going to the feedlots, although the processor were active in the lighter lambs, making up to $136.
Top price of the day for lambs went to Ron Ward "Bellevue", Jindalee Straight, with a quality pen of fresh shorn XB Lambs making $176 and were knocked down to Australian Lamb Company after spirited bidding.
These lambs, with an estimated carcase weight of 27kg and a skin value of $5 came back at $6.45kg CW .
Top price of the day for lambs went to Ron Ward 'Bellevue', Jindalee Straight.
Most prices were in the range of $6.30 to $6.50kg CW although light re stocker lambs and processors are still making up to and over $7.10kg CW.
OTHER QUOTES: XB New Season Lambs: 24 to 27kg CW made from $168 to $176. 20 to 24kg CW made from $155 to $160. 18 to 20kg CW made from $135 to $150. 16 to 18kg CW made from $120 to $135. 14 to 16kg CW made from $80 to $120.
The top price mutton went to a pen of heavy shorn ewes making $136.
Lighter mutton made between $75 to $95 per head with boner mutton making between $30 to $50. Most mutton ranged between $4 to $4.40kg CW.
Limited hoggets sold to a top of $140 to average $117 to be fully firm.
