Bradman’s performance in that match, along with his test career results were immortalised on a cricket bat.
That bat has since been donated to the museum by Councillor Craig ‘Stewie’ Stewart.
Cr Stewart said he found the bat at the back of a shop gathering dust and the hidden gem was sitting among old photos of Cootamundra’s most successful sportsman.
“I dug it out, it was right at the back of a store in Wagga,” Cr Stewart said.
“There wasn’t that many people interested in it, it had much dust over it.”
Once the museum’s committee has examined the framed bat it will be displayed.
It’s expected it will find a place next to three other framed bats, celebrating the Knights of Cricket, St George District Cricket Club and one signed by Bradman.
