With a weather event predicted this weekend and a predicted price rise after Easter, some vendors were hesitant about selling this week. The market consisted of 1796 lambs, 321 ewes, 19 hoggets, 55 rams, and 55 wethers.
Although it was only a small yarding, the quality was as good as we have seen it for a while.
The market bounced back from the lows of last fortnight with a price rise of $15 to $20 and more in some cases.
Trade lambs in the 20 to 24kg range were of very good quality and sold accordingly with spirited bidding on most lots to be $20 better.
Top price of the day went Graham Halbisch of Stockinbingal, with a quality pen of heavy weight XB Lambs making $188.
XB Trade Lambs: 24 to 26kg CW made from $150 to $160; 20 to 24kg CW made from $135 to $150; 18 to 20kg CW made from $130 to $135; 16 to 18kg CW made from $120 to $130; 14 to 16 KG CW made from $75 to $90.
The next sale is Wednesday, April 4 at 8.30am.
