The market consisted of 1821 lambs, 1272 ewes, 76 hoggets, 21 wethers, 31 rams and 11 old sheep.
Quality was not as good as the previous sale, with agents only having three or four lead pens. Secondary lambs are starting to show signs of tough winter conditions, although processors remain keen to purchase.
Not all regular buyers were present and they operated in a market that was fully firm for the top quality lambs, with the lighter lambs generally $5 to $8 cheaper depending on quality.
There was almost no restocker interest.
Top price of the day went to Kanoona Enterprises Harden with an outstanding run of lambs, with the lead pen making $203.00. With an estimated carcase weight of 28kg and wearing a $6.00 coat they came back at $7 per KG CW and went to Southern Meats Goulburn on a knock call. The mutton job continues its rampage, with very good interest shown in most mutton.
Jim Randell Rosehill Rd presented heavy cast for age XB ewes that made $182.60.
With estimated carcase weight of 33/34kg and dressed up in a $10 coat they came back at $ 5.05kg/CW. The mutton market was fully firm better on the previous sale.
