Parkinson celebrated 300 senior games with the Strikers and is only the second of the club’s players, after Mick Simons, to reach the milestone.
She played in the 2001 and 2007 premiership teams and coached Tolland’s first grade women to a premiership last year.
For Parkinson, it’s all about playing a game with mates, mentoring younger players and the competition.
She said she was lucky enough to have the support of older players and enjoyed playing the same for some of the younger Strikers.
On the weekend she swapped her usual role as goalkeeper to help out the reserves.
“It’s a good warm up, sometimes it’s more enjoyable than standing around in goals,” she said.
Boxsell played her 100th game on Sunday and while reserves were travelling well, she was happy to be playing with ‘her girls’.
“They’re a good bunch of girls and we’ve had a heap of young girls come up this year,” Boxsell said.
“It’s good to have two teams again.”
This year Boxsell has taken the role of goalkeeper for the reserves and in 13 rounds, only four goals have been conceded.
On Sunday, the women’s reserve grade beat Leeton United, 4-nil.
Janine Lambert and Ash Holder scored three goals during the first half, with Holder later adding a third goal in the second half.
“They work as a unit really strongly,” coach James Dickinson said.
Dickinson said the team’s defence had been solid all year and while they had improved their movement of the ball.
“They create more options for one another and are working off the ball,” he said.
The Madden Trophy side spent much of their time on the weekend in Leeton’s half.
“It’s helpful when it comes to the bigger clubs, so that we when come up against a challenging team, we’re already doing what we need to do.”
The win solidify’s the reserve’s third place on the ladder, below Junee and Tolland.
“Our goal is to finish the season in the top two.”
