Doug Phillips, who co-runs the Debutante Balls with his wife Julie-Anne and a small group, said there was a “good crew” with 10 debutantes and their partners along with about 140 guests.
“Everybody had a good time and nobody did the wrong thing,” he said.
The Cootamundra Antique Motor Club provided vintage cars to drive the debutantes to the hall.
“It’s just fantastic as we could never afford to hire the cars,” Mr Phillips said.
Mr Phillips said the Debutante Balls had an important function.
“In a small rural area, our kids are leaving high school and they have no adult experience,” he said.
“They have never gone to a formal dinner dance.
“We try to teach them manners and how to work as a team and some basic dance steps.
“It’s always very reward for Julie and me to see the kids dancing together and dealing with social issues.”
