Each property was different in style including leadlight and sculpture, a town garden, rural garden and Balinese-inspired garden.
Sacred Heart School’s P&F president Melissa Finnegan said the school community was very grateful to the owners who opened their gardens.
“We had a team of volunteers at each garden and serving morning tea,” she said.
“Others baked goods to be sold on the day as additional fundraising.”
P&F treasurer Jody Miller said more than $3000 was raised on the day. “With these funds we will update metal working tools for the secondary students,” she said.
Gardeners were Marie and Pat Ryan, Sue Priest, Ann and George Peacey and Pamela Cohen.
Sue Priest’s Balinese garden was created after several trips to Bali.
“I gained an appreciation for their calm and peaceful way of living,” she said. “When I moved here, I decided to create my own little piece of Bali.”
