The Cootamundra Country Club hosted the annual Classic Triples bowls tournament last weekend with 40 teams contesting five games of lawn bowls.

The tournament attracted teams from NSW and ACT with Newcastle taking the top prize. Lead: Joe Featherstone, 2nd Adam New (Coota Ex-services) and skip Mike Gibbons. Mike and Joe have been regulars and their win was a popular one. They finished with 5 wins plus 37.
Runners up, regular visitors from the Woonona Club also on 5 wins with plus 34 shots are Kevin Cartwright, Neville Bywater and Ted Wilkinson.
Third prize with 41/2 wins +29 shots went to the composite team of Lead John Cowper and skip Patrick Heffernan (ex Coota) now playing at Fairy Meadow, with local Rod Crowe playing 2nd.
Fourth prize went to Terry Ledger (ex Coota) and his Mount Lewis team, Bobby Kelly and Kevin Lipscombe with 41/2 wins +23.
Fifth prize went to a composite team of John Cooper (Young) Mick Barber (Coota CC) and Ross Johnson (Old Bar).
