TWO devastating bowling spells by the Crusaders’ two quicks, David Garness and Dean Bradley, has routed Mimosa in round five of the South West Slopes Cricket League played at Albert Park on Saturday.

Mimosa were bowled out for 126 in the 38th over with Garness grabbing his best figures in this competition, 5-21, from 10 overs.
Bradley was equally impressive capturing 4-22 from eight overs. The representative-bowling duo was greatly responsible for the Crusaders winning by eight wickets.
Mimosa skipper Mark Stimson showed his class top scoring 51 while Adam Swanson made a valuable 33.
The pair added 56 runs for the fourth wicket.
Stimson played a real captain’s knock.
Mindful of Mimosa’s batting was not strong; the talented right-hander faced 95 balls and struck only three fours.
Swanson was more severe on bowling striking six fours in his 56 ball innings.
Set 127 runs for victory, the Crusaders lost John Stephens for 16 and Darren Connell for 28.
Adam Twyford, with 48 not out, and Matt Berkrey, 22 not out, added 55 runs for the third wicket – with victory secured in the 21st over finishing with 2-127.
The win by the Crusaders sees them open up a 10 point lead in the competition, over Mimosa.
