LAST Friday we had 10 bowlers involved in a couple of games, R Crowe and P Rasmussen had the smallest margin, 22-19, when they defeated B Lange and C Willis. The next best was a +12 shot win for W Rush and R Smith when they defeated C Miller and D Manwaring. However, the winners for the day in no uncertain manner, were the triples team, namely W Ledger, N Stubbs, and K Breasley who held G Hagan, K Medcalf and G Worboys scoreless for last half of the game despite the fact they were only two shots different then. Final score 34- 10. Jackpot left intact.
Sunday, just two games and a close one for S Cootes, N Buttriss and P Rasmussen (22-20) over G Hagan, K Ryan, and D Guthrie, and then another walkover for K Medcalf and G Worboys this time against K Thorburn and W Manwaring, 34-13.
The first 9.30am “Beat the Heat “ game clashed with a working bee assisting the greenkeeper with No 2 green’s renovation, but eight bowlers took part in pairs games and W Ledger and K Breasley defeated K Black and W Rush to earn 16 points, and the winners of meat trays were K Medcalf and W Chater who tallied 18 points from their win over A Ward and J Malone. Raffle tray went to A Ward.
Bowlers’ presentation night is set for Saturday, December 8, and, combining with the lady bowlers’ event, this will be a great evening if bowlers give it the support it deserves. If you are a winner please come along to receive your award.
