COUNTRY CLUB WOMEN’S: It was wonderful to have two golfing ladies, Maureen Miller and Judy Finkle, with us for our Hawaiian-themed social bowls and lunch last Thursday. Two triples games were played: Neta Manwaring, Marsha Phillips and Ellenor Armstrong were too good for Diana Buchanan, Jenny Blundell and Betty Cleveland, as were Jean Bushell, Judy Finkle and Pat Francis too good for Jan Slavin, Viv Christie and Maureen Miller.

On Saturday, the first combined presentation of the men's and women's bowls was held and was a great success. The women's awards were: single champion, Neta Manwaring (2nd Viv Christie); pairs champions, Betty Cleveland and Viv Christie (2nd Jan Roberts and Marsha Phillips); triples Neta Manwaring, Viv Christie and Mona Perry (2nd Jan Slavin, Betty Cleveland and Kerrie Byrne); Queen of the Green, Karen McMinn.
The sheet for next year's singles championships is on the board; please add your name if you wish to play. Social bowls will continue as usual (at 8.30am for 9am), except for the Thursday between Christmas and New Year.
EXIES: Cootamundra Ex-Services retain the annual Coota/Coolamon challenge with a convincing 36-shot win. On a very hot and sticky Sunday Cootamundra was two shots behind at the lunch break and were doing it a bit tough but the bangers on bread must have done the trick because Coota romped away to retain the trophy.
Don’t forget grasshopper day this Sunday December 16, 12.30pm at the Country Club. Name sheets on board for maestro singles.
