Target Cootamundra is supporting the UnitingCare Network appeal and has $2 fund-raising baubles and $3 gift boxes on sale. Shoppers can also buy and donate a gift.
All donated unwrapped gifts bought and donated will be distributed by the Salvation Army.
“We are encouraging shoppers to donate as much or as little as they can to this important community campaign,” UnitingCare Network Cootamundra volunteer Ros Robinson said.
“All unwrapped gifts bought and donated at the Target Cootamundra store will be delivered to the Salvos in Cootamundra for distribution to local families at Christmas. Children’s clothes, beach towels and gift cards for teenagers are especially appreciated.”
Now in its 27th year, the appeal has helped hundreds of thousands of families across Australia, with UnitingCare Network saying that 42 per cent of all households report suffering ‘financial stress’, including not being able to cool or heat their homes, going without meals, struggling to pay utility bills and seeking financial assistance through income support.
