The fun summer program of activities will run from Saturday, January 5 until Sunday, January 13.
Scripture Union NSW sends teams, including mostly Sydney-based members, across the state to share the news of the gospel.
While the program does include bible talks, it is much more than this with attendees playing games, doing craft and beating the heat indoors.
Check out the Coota SummerFest Facebook page for a full program of events.
There will be everything from art and craft to a video game tournament and even activities for adult members of the community.
A combined church service will take place hosted by the SummerFest team on Sunday, January 6 at Cootamundra Public School, including a barbecue dinner.
On Saturday, January 12, all community members are invited to SummerFest’s ‘Sweet 16’ picnic in Jubilee Park from 2pm, including music, snacks, coffee and games for the kids.
SummerFest has a proud history in Cootamundra, starting as a result of some members of the Sydney-based church having connections to the town.
SummerFest director Scott Pasley said early help was found through the Roberts family, the Camilleri family from the Baptist Church, Graham and Lorna Nixon from the Presbyterian Church, and Bonnie McClintock from the Anglican Church.
“Other churches soon came on board too. Our first Summerfest was a great success with 40-80 kids coming along,” Scott said.
“That and the generosity of the churches towards the team - we just had to return. Even a fire in a silo threatening to blow up half the town couldn't keep Summerfest away!”
