This year we are celebrating on Saturday, March 9 at the Cootamundra Exservices Club Auditorium from 5pm to 8pm.
Everyone is welcome and entry is by gold coin donation.
There will be entertainment, light refreshments, guest speakers and the presentation of the Julie Smith Women’s Art Prize and Patricia Caskie Women’s Literature prize.
We’ve had a good response from women but have limited entries from high school and primary school girls.
There are great cash prizes for first place, art and book packs for the runner-up in each section as well as certificates for all entries.
There are four local women judging the competitions.
If you wish your primary or high school girl to enter, please email for an entry form to cootawattlebirds@gmail.com asap.
Literature entries must be emailed by Wednesday, March 6 and art entries should be delivered to the club auditorium between 6pm and 9pm on Friday, March 8.
Entry forms and fees can be organised then as well.
International Women's Day is celebrated annually on March 8.
The day has occurred for well over a century, with the first gathering in 1911, and continues to grow.
