COOTAMUNDRA was cloaked in dust on Tuesday afternoon, one of scores of NSW towns to be affected by a dust storm moving across the state towards the coast.

The storm hit mid afternoon, limiting visibility to a couple of kilometres.
The Bureau of Meteorology said westerly winds of from 35-50 km/h had raised the dust, loose top soil from drought-stricken areas.
