"Lexie has only been a member of the Wagga Wagga Cycle Club since September, so it is her first season of competition," Lexie's mother, Alysha Phillips, said.
"She competed in three events, but the one she won was the sprint derby. There were quite a few heats and she was lucky enough to make the final.
"Lexie was up against other riders who have been competing a lot longer than she has, but she loves what she is doing and is very focussed.
"Her idol is Anna Meares and Lexie hopes to be as good as her one day."

In Lexie's second event, the time trials, she gained an impressive silver medal, beating third place by just .22 of a second.
"This is Lexie's dream and she works very hard to reach her goals, training five afternoons a week for about an hour each session." Ms Phillips said.
"None of her friends are into cycling, so it is obviously just the love of the sport that keeps her going.
"Her friends all think she's pretty special after the state track championships and her father and I are very proud of her."
