Customers have the option of calling CGRC administration offices and report the location of a faulty streetlight to the customer service team, which will in turn report the issue to Essential Energy.
Essential Energy's Sarah Braybon said maintaining streetlights is an important service.
"Streetlights play a very important part in our communities and as such, I urge residents who see a faulty streetlight to dob it in to Essential Energy," she said.
"The sooner streetlights are reported as faulty, the sooner our locally-based Essential Energy crews can make repairs."
"By reporting faulty streetlights, people can assist us to ensure that public lighting services are reliable and safe and meet community expectations,"
Aside from reporting problems via the council, faulty streetlights can be reported by calling Essential Energy on 13 20 80 or via mobile phone by downloading the NeatStreets app which is available for iPhone or iPad, Android and Windows Phone.
