Months of rehearsals by the CADAS Kids paid off with a heart-warming musical to entertain Cooamundra in mid-winter last Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

The cast lived up to the CADAS motto "drama is fun" and performed brilliantly - especially as most of them were treading the boards for the first time, and a good number were Year 7s.
But organisers were disappointed at the overall roll-up by the Cootamundra community, with attendances averaging just over 100 a night.
The refurbished Town Hall was appreciated, especially the heating, and CADAS Kids founder Jenny Roberts expressed gratitude to the Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council for its strong support, including rental of the Town Hall at a discounted rate for not-for-profit organisations.
At all three performances audiences gave rapturous applause at the end of the three-act show. Strong performances were put in by all the main characters, in particular the Australian family and the "Indian connection".
The only actor who wasn't a "kid" - Marianne McInerney - put in a brilliant performance as Grandma Tan.
The choreography was highly disciplined, with sometimes what seemed like 20 people on stage all knowing exactly where they were going and miraculously not bumping into each other despite quite intricate pathways - and the dance and singing was enhanced by plenty of colour and movement - especially the spectacular full-cast, high-energy finale.
There were some nice local tweaks to the script, set, costumes, lighting were great and the cuppa and slice at interval delicious!
