Unfortunately, the side went down to a red-hot Narrandera trio.
MINORS
Geoff "Bloopy" Manwaring and Jason Jones contested the first round of the club minor singles championships.
The early stages of the clash were extremely close, with the score 9-8 in Bloopie's favour.
However, Jones took control from that point on.
He was never headed and went on to record a comfortable 31-16 win.
Jones will now play Henry Wilson in the second round of the championships.
SOCIAL BOWLS
Two very close games of social bowls were played on Wednesday, June 17.
The first such clash was a triples game, with Ned Kelly (yes, that's his real name), Charlie Willis and Paul Cockram finishing up narrow 30-29 winners against Rocky Ford, Greg "Nippy" Field and Jason Jones.
In the other match, newly elected president Tony Curtis and Geoff Hillier recorded a close 19-17 win over Dennis "Ginger" O'Brien and Rob Hillier.
TRIPLES
Two games of triples were contested on Friday, July 19, with Bob New, Nippy Field and Geoff Hillier just falling short of a win.
They were narrowly defeated 22-21 by the team of Rod "Pickles" Bradley, Rob Hillier and Jim White.
Ned Kelly, Rocky Ford, and Peter Hoang had a good win, defeating Ginger O'Brien, Keith Hampton and Pat O'Brien 16-13.
AGM
The club's annual general meeting was held on Sunday.
Tony Curtis was elected president, with the new vice-president being Kye Fisher.
All other positions remain the same, except with the inclusion of Rodney Ball to the general bowls committee.
At the conclusion of the AGM, a free social day of bowls took place with no winner's prizes.
Steve Stanton and Jim White had a comfortable win over Ned Kelly and Craig Jordan.
Mark Devere, Nippy Field and Paul Cockram defeated Jeff Withers, Neil Blackett and Pickles Bradley 24-16.
Rod Ball and Geoff Hillier defeated Bruce Gillies and Frog Roberts, while Kye Fisher, Mick Ryan and Grumpy Fisher had a 25-17 win over Shane Wilkinson, Terry Cosgrove and Bob New.
A big welcome to Ned Kelly, who has joined the club's ranks.
