The study aims to better understand the current flood risk to the community, and to support council functions including planning and development, community education and designing flood risk mitigation works.
The council has engaged flooding and hydrology experts, WMAwater, to complete the study.
In particular it is looking for records such as photos and flood marks (e.g. mud or debris lines), and is interested to learn about the community's experiences of floods in Cootamundra.
Residents are urged to undertake a short questionnaire available online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/cootamundraflood. A newsletter outlining the study and questionnaire is available for download from Council's website: www.cgrc.nsw.gov.au. For those who prefer a hard copy, please call into GCRC Administration offices in Wallendoon Street.
Photos (particularly from September 2016) can be brought in on a USB stick or emailed to cootamundraflood@wmawater.com.au
